Guys:
Ok, I have some new info here.
I am not quite understanding why, but my sighted XYL just put the analyzer
on my 160 meter sloper, and we got some actual honest-to-God SWR readings.
Here's the summary.
Around 1.800 the SWR is about 3.5 to 1.
Around 1.850, we have a dip to about 2.5 to 1, after which time the SWR
climbs back up again.
I can't remember all of the particulars, but by the time we get up to around
1.900, the SWR is about 7 to 1 or so.
Above 1.900 on up to 2.000, the SWR steadily rises up to infinity.
These readings come fairly close to what my TW1 is telling me.
I have done nothing with coax lengths yet.
Can anyone tell me what these SWR readings mean?
I don't understand why I can't get a dip to 1.0 to 1 with the analyzer. ...
In other words, there's a dip, but it only goes down to about 2.5 to 1.
What would I have to do to get this dip to be more pronounced?
If folks want to respond to me privately, since some on the list may be
getting tired of this thread, that would be fine with me.
Hope to see at least some of you on 1.845 MHZ at 8 p.m. Eastern tonight.
