Tom,
Have you ever checked the antenna at the high end of 75 
before?  Perhaps it has always been high and worked just 
anyhow!!  Perhaps sometimes a little knowledge is a dangerous 
thing!!  And as long as the amp. sees a good load, there should be no problem.
