Well now it sounds like you are almost there. The fact that you now
had the audio problem was sort of a back handed conformation that the
driver was installed properly. I would really try some other software
like N3FJP or XMlog. Just be sure that you set the com port to 4 and
baud to 9600 so everything matches.
I was a bit wary of Windows 7 a year ago, but really like it after a
short adjustment. I still have a XP pc in the shack, and anytime I
fire it up for some reason or other, I feel like I've stepped into Mr.
Peabody's Way Back Machine.
On the other topic: I got a Logitech wireless keyboard from Newegg for
under 30 dollars delivered a few months ago. Love it.
