I still have my gokit IC-706MKIIG which I'd like to put mobile someday but
it's in the house for now but I'd probably opt for my TS-930 I bought at a
ham fest last year first because that has a much better receiver than the
706 and is a lot easier to use I think. Certainly with the NTS nets and
stuff like that I do, it's a lot easier to reach over quick to hit the notch
filter than it would be on the 706 and sometimes I need to set that mid NTS
message. I'll add the digital board for PC control and more memories one of
these days when I have the money but so far it's all original. I hope the
TS-2000 doesn't ever give me any problems though, I depend on it too much.
Really, that, the external speaker and my 900 MHz base are what fits on the
desk, nothing else on top.
