jaws does not start at the top of a list

Hi all,
I have a friend, who has a windows 7 desktop, running jaws 16.
Here's her problem. When she opens a folder, jaws highlights a file in 
the middle of the list of files in the folder, instead of going to the 
top of the list, and reading the name of the first file at the top of 
the list. Anybody know what could be causing the problem, and, how to 
fix it?
