I'm using Word 2013, but I seem to remember that the steps for inserting
page numbers were identical or very close in Word 2010.

To insert page numbers in Word, go into the Insert menu. Tab to Page
numbers, which is after Headers and Footers, and press enter. At this
point you're given options about how the page number should look; I tend
to choose the one that says, "simple page number," or something like
that. Once you press enter on that, you're given options about
placement. One is Upper Right-Hand Corner. another is Current Location,
which you would choose if you're in, say, a header and want it to appear
to the right of your last name. Press enter, and you're good to go.
