I haven't read the original article in the Monitor. What strikes me 
about this list of objections, however, is that they can be made about 
smart phones in general, which seems to me is a different argument.

I don't know what options are available to blind people who just want a 
feature phone, and I agree with the subtext that there should be an 
option, but again, this is a different argument.

I do know that the feature phone my mom got on a two-year contract cost 
$189, 10 dollars less out of pocket than the price mentioned for the 
iPhone.
