I’d advise considering a good old fashioned corded phone. If power’s
out and is likely to stay out, you might want to save every precious
miliamp you can. But you’re right that cordless phones, routers, and
DSL modems use next to no power. Probably all of them run off wall
warts, so you might want to consider trying to get yourself a DC-DC
supply for increased efficiency.
These things are always about approximation, I’m discovering. There
is no perfect setup. There’s just what you’ve got, and there’s what
you can do to improve it.
