ya, I don't know what they are talking about to be real about it.  I 
programmed the first time that way.  I just set up a band for UHF and the 
other band for VHF and set up the off sets respectively.  not that big of 
deal.  Not really any worse than programming anything else.  Maybe in most 
radios you don't have to set the offset/power setting and they don't like 
the extra steps.  I don't know it has been a long time sense I have 
programmed anything else.  I just like this radio because when it is 
speeking english it takes alot of the guess work out of most of it.  lol
