Web Developer
The World Wide Web Consortium<http://www.w3.org/> (W3C) is 
looking for a new staff member to assist with W3C's Systems Team 
work.  This is an opportunity for a unique individual to be part 
of the team responsible for the design of next generation World 
Wide Web Technologies and to lead a variety of industry and user 
groups toward the development of technologies that enhance the 
functionality of the Web.
You will be located at the W3C Japanese host site at Keio 
University and will enjoy working within a multicultural 
Team<http://www.w3.org/People/>.
Responsibilities
This is primarily a Web Developer position which may include some 
Systems Administration.
With the rest of the W3C Systems Team create and support Web 
based systems.

 *   Software development:
    *   Front-end development for w3.org
    *   Server side web development
    *   Usability design and testing
 *   Systems Administration:
Activities to include but not limited to:

    *   Diagnose and report or repair server or service issues as 
they arise
    *   Liaison with Japanese service providers for networking 
and telecommunications needs.
    *   Assist with maintaining accounts and services

Requirements
As the recognized leader for the technical development of the 
World Wide Web, we are seeking an individual with interest in Web 
technology, Open-Source software and enthusiasm for the mission 
and spirit of W3C.
Candidates should have:

 *   Bachelors Degree or higher
 *   Background in computer science and software engineering, 
with a minimum of three years related working experience.
 *   Experience with high availability infrastructure a plus
 *   Familiarity with Web technologies like HTML, CSS, XSL, 
RDF...HTML5 experience a plus
 *   Experience with several scripting and programming languages 
(PHP and Javascript in particular.  Java, Perl, Python, Shell 
script and others a plus..)
 *   Linux experience (Debian preferred)
 *   Good written and spoken competency in Japanese and English, 
knowledge of other languages and cultures a plus
 *   Good communication skills, both written and oral

Desired Skills

 *   Knowledge of Javascript libraries
 *   Knowledge of Symfony Framework
 *   User-experience design
 *   Solid Web accessibility skills, including familiarity with 
WCAG 2.0.
 *   Knowledge of how to ensure a site performs well on mobile 
devices.
This is a full time, on-site position.
