Please note that FS makes note under the JAWS Requirements of the computer
having enough memory to support the OS, JAWS and any programs that you wish
to use. This says that the JAWS and the system's performance is dependent
on the amount of RAM. What is not defined is the amount of RAM need. The
needed amount of RAM is a pass/fail, depending on the user's computer and
usage.

The following is a list of items to check as the system resources can be
effected.

1) Is your screen saver set to blank? If not, I would suggest setting it to
blank as fancy screen savers will use more resources.
2) Is you desktop background set to a single color. By this I mean that it
is not a picture of any sort.
3) Is Instant Messaging active? If so, I would suggest turning if off until
it is needed.
4) When is the last time that you cleared out the temporary files?
5) When is the last time that you cleaned the cache files?
4) When is the last time you did a disk defragmentation? There are free
programs that do a decent job.
5) When is the last time that you cleaned and defragmented the registry?
There are free programs that do a decent job.

Beyond these items, it will become a computer specific opportunity. Feel
free to contact me offline at [log in to unmask] so the list does not
become inundated with unneeded and inapplicable email traffic. Discussing
your specific computer challenge can be handled better with using direct
emails.
