I never thought the alinco receivers were any worse than any other VHF/UHf
radio...I think any modern radio is about the same as far assensativity
etc...sometimes quality of audio leaves allot to be desired, but that is
easily remedied with a good external speaker or increased volume. perhaps
these alinco's are older rigs that did have some variation in technology
that made them inferior to other radios...
There are a couple repeaters around here that use alinco radios paired
together and they seem to be just fine...at least equal in operating
parameters to the motorola/vertex/kenwood/icom gear that makes up the other
majority of the machines.
I mean, .18 UV is .18UV no matter what brand name happens to be plastered on
the radio case right?
and, 25 watts, is still 25 watts by the same toakin?
