HI Steve,
YOu may want to look at two smaller portable antennas.

The ventenna which is made here locally in Citrus Heights a suburb of
Sacramento.

It uses little radials which come with it.

It will work 6 meters thru 40 meters.

YOu might also wish to look at the specs of the 2010 traveller antenna.

This is a system that works 20 meters on up.

They also make additional elements for 30 40 60 and 80 meters.

Both antennas have gotten great reviews on eham.

I think the category is portable antennas not mobile.

If you type in something like

super antennas mp1 reviews into google you will come up with a bunch of
antennas in this category.

Hope this helps,

I'm considering either of these antennas for use off my balcony.

73,

Eric
