    Well, I'm thinking and hoping it's not a problem with the control 
itself--maybe just some dirt or dust, especially since it worked for a while 
after a shot of canned air.  But, if not, I could certainly put another pot 
in there.

Will see what others' experiences are.

I accidentally dropped my tw1, like their would be another way to drop it?
Anyway, the surface mount control is small, I had to replace it with fixed
resistors although hanging a pot inside might work.  Their is plenty of room
to mount a pot if you don't mind drilling another hole.
I hope you find a better solution than that!!!
