I just posted the following to our local support group's e-mail list but thought it might be of general interest since we generally pay a premium for gluten-free items across the country. Perhaps a little price competition will help bring local prices down a bit also.

While I like to support local stores, in these days of tight budgets, I have found that you can get very significant savings by shopping for gluten-free staple items at Amazon.com.

Examples:

6-Eco Pak Natures Path Honey's Corn Flakes, $38.03 or $6.34 per package versus $7.45 at a local store.
6- Arrowhead Mills Organic maple Buckwheat Cereal, $23.17 or $3.86 per box versus $4.95 here.
Kind Bars usually in 12 packs and usually under $1.50 each vs. up to $2.30 each at a local store.

Most of these items are eligible for free shipping on orders over $50 which is easily done.

To shop for gluten free items, go to www.amazon.com and type "gluten free" in the search box. Amazon currently lists 2,538 gluten-free items and you can also search by manufacturer.

I have no financial interest in Amazon but have been using their service for years with nothing but great service and very significant savings.

Joel
