hello tom, on the k3 elecraft radio the 8 pin mike connector is
soldered directly to the circuit board and there is no lock nut
holding the connector to the front panel so when you tighten the mike
on the chassis connector there is a slight movement and you don't
want to be to zealous about tightening the collar because you can
break the solder joints and then you start having problems with
intermitent connects to the circuit board. i think that is what you
are seeing on the ts590 as well. take care, c u 73 mike w6quv
