i assigned it to 202, i did it with the first pf key.
I pressed it when i was transmitting but heard nothing, any thoughts?

Set one of your pf keys (menu 79 or 80) to 202.   Press and hold the pf 
key while transmitting.  Be sure the TX monitor is off or it won't 
speak.   Use the drive key ( the one that screwed you up before) to 
toggle between meter settings: swr, alc, and compression if running
compression.
