Haven't had trouble with the first character as described. Was going to
suggest maximizing the screen. Or press insert tab together see if it reads
right. Just a thought. Havent noticed that problem.

I don't think so, but I don't want to swear by that last statement.
I am currently having problems with the laptop that contains the N3FJP
logging software, so can't try it right now.
However, once I get the laptop back from the shop, I'll give it a try and
let you know.
