We won't allow RACES repeaters in our region to have lowlife link since
they're supposed to be localized nets, even the drills,it's way too much
hassle since no one I've ever encountered on there when they accidently left
it up had enough sense to listen before talking and really disrupts the
nets. Even the big hurricane drill this coming week, one community can't
hear the repeater and asked if they can use it for receive but the repeater
can't be configured that way fast and since I'm NCS for that net, I told
them no way will I deal with the aggravation. In a real emergency it would
be no good anyway between stuff like that no emergency NCS would want to
deal with it I would think, and the internet would be one of the first
things to go anyway. It's as useless in an emergency as the people who
create and run it are to ham radio in general.
