30 is a great band and, as Mike suggests, that's exactly where I hang out on 
contest weekends.  The G5RV isn't the greatest of antennas on 30 but I've 
managed to have many solid qso's there and even work some DX.  The WARC 
bands in general are indeed among the friendliest places in ham radio.
