Thanks for the information on the antenna connections.
Regarding the firmware update, I'll send the MHT file I got from the Kenwood
web site to your private e-mail address. It tells you how to check your
firmware version, and then guides you through the update procedure.
Since my rig is one of the earlier ones, I knew it had to be updated.
Since yours is a new one, you might not need to go through the process.
The firmware version you want to look for is version 1.04.
I am sure this is not true for everyone on the list, but I did get sighted
assistance from my XYL, since Jaws didn't tell me everything I needed to
know as the process proceeded, but that was an individual choice on my part.
And, yes, we will learn together.
That's the fun of getting a new rig, and being a part of this great list.

The antenna 1 is the one on the left as you look it from the front. The RX
antenna is one of the RCA jacks on the left back from the front.
I confess I don't know which one of them it is yet.
I am still learning as well.
What about this firmware up-date?
How do I know that I don't have it?
I suppose it is on the Kenwood website, right?

I just down loaded the info from the "I can work this thing" website, but
have not digested it yet.
