Tom,

I'm not sure there's any legal requirement for you to have the radio ID
every ten minutes unless you want to leave it in crossband mode unattended.
The reason I use it here is so that I can use my HT and not have to be
confined to the shack.  I can't hit the repeater I want to use with my HT,
so I just run the HT at extremely low power and let the big radio do the
heavy lifting.
