Hi, everyone.
Did anyone else work the Skywarn Recognition Day event today?
Perhaps it was just me, but it seemed as though there were fewer NWS offices
on the HF bands this year.
I worked the event from roughly 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and was only able to
contact 31 NWS offices from here at the Michigan home QTH.
There were many familiar NWS offices that I simply did not hear on the air
this year.
I was using my TS480, with my Ameritron AL811H amplifier, and my Alpha Delta
DXCC antenna.
I heard no NWS offices at all on 75 meters. Everyone I worked was either
on 40 or 20 meters. All contacts were SSB phone.
40 seemed to be in fairly good shape, and 20 was a bit squirrely at times.
Anyway, I wonder if others had a similar experience?
