Hi Colin,
What you said makes sense up until now. The latest Bearcat 396 doesn't use physical channels, as I understand it, you put frequencies in to groups and systems.
So, there is no such thing as "channel 1," any more.
This brings me to the question of how easy it is for a blind person to use this type of radio from the keypad.
