		Tom,

You can use this to drive a transverter or some other device.   The 
output is one of the RCA jacks on the rear of the rig (lower right hand 
side when looking at the rear).   You don't want to activate this 
function and transmit without  a proper load connected to the output, or 
  you can do damage.   It's something I'll never use, but you can read 
about it on page 50 of the manual.
