Tom,

I don't have a 590 but I have a suggestion.  The next time you have your
friend over try exiting jfw and see if he can install and configure the
program.  Then bring up jfw.  Maybe there is a conflict with the
screenreader just with the install and configuration.  This is just
something off the top of my head.  I may be all wet here but it may be at
least a method of eliminating a few variables in the equation.
