Hello list,
In an ongoing effort to expand my cooking skills I tried a new recipe
last night for very simple prep of fish. The original recipe called
for "panko crumbs" I substituted cornflake crumbs. The result was
ok, but not great. I am not sure how it would have turned out
differently with Panko. Can anyone tell me what exactly Panko is
supposed to be, and what would be a good substitution. If there isn't
a great substitution that will be ok with me, this is not something I
loved and missed, just an attempt to expand my cooking horizons.
Thanks in advance! I will summarize.
