Position Details
Job Description
The Website Application Platform team is looking for an
individual who is excited about the challenge of driving large,
global and cross-organizational projects and initiatives.
In this role you will review designs and early prototypes with
technical teams to identify Assistive Technology (“AT”) issues
early in the development process; provide technical and
user-experience feedback to teams and propose alternative
solutions; maintain office hours one day per week for technical,
design and business teams to drop-in and get advice on AT issues
and maintain a queue of requests to test applications and
participate in regular design reviews. You will also provide
proactive advice that helps Amazon teams offer a best in class AT
experience, conduct training activities with designated personnel
in the use of AT and the testing process; create training
materials, best practice, and FAQ documents to distribute
expertise as well as document issues and the platform specific
technical solutions. In addition you will be responsible for
defining business cases for accessibility initiatives and driving
them to completion.
You must be able to:
Interact with technical teams to deliver training on assistive
technology.
Interact with Project Sponsors, Technical Program Managers and
multiple Development Teams to define and deliver complex features
and projects.
Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate
and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus
technical constraints.
Identify, assess, track and mitigate issues and risks at multiple
levels.
Create, maintain and disseminate project information to
stakeholders.
Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and
commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing
priorities.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or 4+ years equivalent work experience.
2+ years delivering training to a technical audience.
2+ years experience managing complex projects or project
coordination.
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years testing and reporting on features and products using AT.
Experience with MS Office tools and software.
3-5 years project management experience.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Experience with project delivery for large, cross-functional
projects.
Proven problem-solving skills.
Strong organizational skills.
