I don't use the N3FJP stuff, although I do use some of Kimberly's .wav
files in Writelog. Since I've been loaded with suggestions this week,
here is another one:
Assuming the location and format of the .wav files is correct, perhaps
it goes back to the sound card issue. There may be a menu setting or
configuration .ini file where you can see what sound device N3FJP is
looking for to play the .wav audio.
If you connect the radio to the pc with your usb/serial thingy(no
changes in any radio menus needed, just tell N3FJP the new port number)
and unplug the usb cable, see if the wave files play.
There could be any number of things going on here, but finding out what
sound card the software is trying to use may be a good idea. You may
need to tell it which device to use.
On moving the window in the Kenwood software: You can drag it with a
mouse, or from the keyboard alt-spacebar should bring up a menu
with"move" as an item. Hit enter and use the arrow keys to move the
window and then *I think* hit enter again to get out.
