For those running 590's especially but for anyone who wants good audio at a
reasonable cost, I want to recommend the Audio Technica ATR-30.  I had been
reading discussions of this mic on the 590 list and then read reviews in
EHam.  Based on these I purchased one through Amazon.com and got it on
Thursday.  I have run some A/B comparisons between it and my Heil GM5 and
most people prefer the ATR-30.  At $30 for it versus $100 plus for the Heil
mics, it's a no brainer for me.  Those of you on net today will hear it and
I am anxious to see what you think.
 
For those running 590's, I found my best settings as follows:
 
Menu 25:  200
Menu 26:  2800
Menu 30: off.
