Which radios are you referring to? Most Motorola software is not windows
based but for some newer radios, mostly high end it is. Example, the MCS2000
and MTS2000 I use on 900 MHz, that software works with windows, but it took
a lot of trial and error to make it work with jaws. I can use it now on my
own and do everything with it but there are a few unlabeled graphics, and a
lot to learn in general by playing in the software and you can't just play
with the software to see if it's any good, you need a radio to upload the
programming out of so you have a file to experiment with, or someone needs
to send you the file, or code plug, to work with. Likewise there's a lot to
learn in motorola language such as channels are personalities, most radios
you need to create a personality before you add info to it then have to add
it to a scan zone or you won't be able to tune to it with the radio. It is
doable, I do it often, I program a lot of 900 MHz radios in the area and
have helped with others as well, I'm just letting you know it's nothing like
the Kenwood, icom, RTsystems, or most other software you may have used in
the past and you will want to play with it and talk to someone who knows
what they're doing in the software and not just jump in to it because you'll
give yourself a headache if you go in with no idea, even sighted people do
that.
