It comes up talking, they tell you to backup your settings, but I never lost 
mine.
The firmware program talks fine with window-eyes, I assume Jaws won't be a 
problem.
I did it from a 9 pin com port to the 9 pin port on the radio.  The biggest 
problem was finding a male to female converter, since the computer and radio 
both have male jacks.
