Tom,

I haven't had good luck with verticals on 75, and I think there are two 
reasons why:  First, my radials weren't nearly long enough, nor were there 
enough of them to be effective.  Second, verticals do better for long 
distance work, and I was looking for shorter ranges.  I've had much better 
luck with dipoles on 75, so that's what I use.  On the other hand, I've 
heard of lots of people having success with quarter wave verticals on 160, 
but again, you have to be willing to put down lots of radials.
