A couple of thoughts:
(1) When it comes to software, there are as many opinions as folks
offering them. Get together another group and they will as likely tell
you to upgrade from IE7 to IE8 or go for the soon to be ie9. So the real
issue is this:
(2) Are you having problems with ie8? If not, leave well enough alone.
If you are, and you might wish to outline them for the group, perhaps
there is some tweeking of settings that will fix what troubles you.
Be leary of dogmatic answers to issues such as this.
The beautiful thing about this adventure called faith is that we can count on Him
(God) to never lead us astray.
