Hi,
I have the Encore Dxr2 DVD kit, and while the Dxr2 board does do audio
decoding, it's main task involves decompressing the MPEG2 video that DVD
movies are recorded with (this is a very data intensive, real time process,
and would overwhelm all but the fastest of CPU's if done in software).
I am quite pleased with it's performance, with the only caveat being the
present drivers have a conflict with the USB portion of the latest Win95 (the
USB support needs to be removed for the drivers to work correctly).
