But do people really listen to 5 hours or watch 5 hours of pre-game 
coverage?  I have never met anyone who admits to it.

So why do people complain about capitalism when they see it working as it
was intended to work?
Nobody is out there to loose money, Owners, players, media outlets etc.  The
reason the pre and post game programming is so long, is that the stations
can make more money doing that than with their other programming options.
It's "The American way".
