The whole point of this new edition of the Victor Reader Stream is to cater
to those who do not have a computer, never intend having a computer, don't
know, nor want to know, the first thing about computers, etc. For anyone on
this list, purchase of this latest iteration of the Victor Reader Stream
would be a total waste of money, unless for those too lazy to use their
computer to rip the desired content from the CD and transfer it to an SD
card.

Launches Victor ReaderStream CD Edition
It does transfer the files directly to the card but if you have a computer,
there is no need for it. you can rip any audio disc with ease.

My understanding is that the CD player allows you to transfer content from
the CD to the Stream without having to first grab and convert the files on
the computer, but I'm not sure. this would be very handy for listening to
commercial audiobooks, which aren't always set up for playing on a stereo.
I'll call Humanware next week to ask questions, and then I'll post to the
list. If anyone has already done that and can tell us more, please do.
