A recent study published in the Annals of Internal Medicine on gun
violence in homes, concluded that people who have ready access to a
fireman (in the home) are twice as likely to be killed and three
times as likely to commit suicide. Furthermore, a woman was three
times more likely to be killed in a home that had a firearm in it.
The study confirms previous data showing that three-quarters of women
who are killed in a home, are killed by guns.
