I thought I would chime in on this discussion.

When I took my Extra exam a couple of years ago, I asked the examiners if I 
could use my computer's scientific calculator if it was necessary during my 
testing.  They didn't have any problem with this.  I positioned the computer 
so they all could see it and they could hear JAWS to know if I was doing 
anything other than using the calculator.

Having said all this, I never needed to use the calculator at all.  The few 
questions I got on any math related questions were easily solved in my head.

If you approach this issue positively and without demands, I feel most 
examiners will accommodate.
