    Actually, Lowell, I did not know of the sameness between the two rigs.

I hope you are correct, Tom, I hope it is not my fault.
When I hear from Kenwood, I'll let you all know what the cause and cure may
be.
It is a great rig!
Did you know that the TM-V71a and the TM-D710A are the same radio?  Only the
head makes the difference.
In other words, you could get the TM-D710A head and put it on yours and that
would make the total conversion.
Probably you already knew  that.
