Oddly enough, I was intending to post exactly the same question to the list 
myself.  Would realy like to have a play around with the wsjt weak signal 
modes on vhf, but don't want to shell out cash on some sort of rig interface 
to find the software is inaccessable.

Given the difficulties folks seem to have with rtty and psk software, I 
wouldn't be too hopeful.
