The low beeps indicate the factory defaults, while, I believe, the high beep
is where you go into single-band mode, with the VFO on the other side muted.
I always try to keep things so that the low beep is what you hear on both
VFO's.
Regarding the manual for the TMV71A, I have a version in HTM format, which
directly puts you on line where sections of the manual can be accessed.
I would suspect that someone on list has the manual in a text format.
You could also look at icanworkthisthing.com.
