Richard,
I have been interested in Ham radio since I was a teenager in the 60s.
School, cars and of course girls got in the way of radio. My vision was
getting very bad and I needed a new hobby. I got my license in October 2006.
I live in Clifton NJ.

John:

You must have taken your test and gotten your call very shortly after I got
mine. I was WB2KTV from June, '69, through June, '89, at which time I had
forgotten to renew with the 610 form, so my license lapped.
My life changed in oh so many ways, to quote the Beatles song, and ham radio
was just one of those things for which I had neither the time nor the
inclination for any more. That all changed in 2006, when I lost my job and
had oodles of free time on my hands, so I studied up, took the test again in
October of that year and was assigned the call KC2QHW, which I immediately
swapped for my old call which, thankfully, was still available.

In what part of 2-land are you? I'm in New York City.
