Tom,

These things are notorious for the hum.  I've got 2 of them and  over the years have heard the hum a few times.   It's usually caused by the cover itself.   Remove the cover and turn the supply on and a very good chance the noise will be gone.  Sometimes just putting the cover back on and retightening the screws will resolve the problem.    some guys will jam little bits of cardboard or something in the small space between the cover and front/rear panels to dampen the noise, but I've never had to do it.    You can always set a brick on top of it to quiet it down.
