Hello,
My doctor has asked me to go through a one-week gluten challenge before running some diagnostic tests. I have been gluten free for 6 years. The doctor plans to do the tTG IgA and IgG test. I asked her to also run an IgA deficiency test, but she had not heard of this test. My questions to the group are:
1. Can anyone tell me whether there is a separate IgA deficiency test?
2. Is one week of consuming gluten enough time to stimulate the antibody reaction that the tTG test will detect? How much should I eat?
I expect to be uncomfortable while consuming gluten, so I'll plan to do this during the holiday break ... while I'm not in the office. I appreciate your advice and experience.
Thanks,
Allison
