I was asked about how to use the goldwave speech recognition feature.
Using the latest version, go to Tools (alt+t), then to Speech Convert (s).
the window is now called Speech converter, rather than Goldwave. Press the
context key and you find options like "open text," "speak to file," and
"dictate."
Yesterday I recorded and saved my file using goldwave first. then I opened
speech Convert. I hit ctrl+a to select the entire file, and I pressed enter
on the Dictate option. the transcript was produced after that. My file was
short, and it transcribed quickly.
I haven't experimented with the other options. when I was poking around with
the Jaws cursor, I noticed that the text-to-audio was set to use Microsoft
Mary. I didn't find a way to change the voice, but I haven't spent a lot of
time working on it.
