Looking for advice.
The local Shop-rites have put in kiosks of Magic Pop...a product that somehow makes something like a pita bread, it pops. They do it on the spot in a special machine and bag them. They are not gluten-free, but I don't plan to buy them. The smell makes me sick and it stinks up half the store, and I will complain. But my bigger concern is this is made under pressure and the cloud of residue goes into the air. One of the kiosks is set up right near the fresh fish section...which is not self contained. In order to buy fish there, I have to put-up with the magic pop odor....ugh.
More important, do you think it could also be getting gluten residue on the fish? The owner of the supermarkets has a celiac grandchild, so he would be sympathetic, but I don't know if my fears are founded or baseless. . I would hate to stop shopping at his stores. The fish is the best...and he carries lots of GF stuff. Maybe he can just move the darn contraption. When I hear the popping sound, I do my best to avoid the area. I have even walked out of the store.
Anyone have one of these kiosks in their supermarkets? Any ideas?
Thanx. L
