Dear list,
Has anyone had experience with dental implants?
I got the bad news today that a back tooth is cracked below the gum line and needs to come out.
For structural reasons, I understand that it's best to replace with an implant. Implants require bone or a bone graft. My jaw bone has definitely receded. In general, my bones, like those of many Celiacs, are compromised. As bone densitometry gives a far-from-complete picture of bone health, there's no guarantee that my improved numbers mean my bones, jaw or elsewhere, are really solid.
Comments?
Thanks,
Mary B.
