The next meeting of Alamo Celiac, GIGŪ in Austin is scheduled for January 19th at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, 6600 Woodrow Ave. All members of this list are invited to attend.
This meeting is our annual pot luck dinner. But in addition to the dinner we will have a special presentation from our member Leslie Scantlin. Leslie and her daughter Paige attended the 2010 GIG conference and they will talk to us about what they learnt at the conference.
For the pot luck, please keep in mind that this is dinner. While the kids would love it, we do not want everyone to bring brownies. We need appetizers, main dishes, side dishes and deserts. Be creative.
It is important to include with each food item a listing of ingredients. Some of our members need to avoid more than just gluten. If the recipe is either original or has been changed at least 3 times, please bring the recipe. We can publish these recipes in the recipe exchange section of our monthly newsletter.
Alamo Celiac, GIG is a support group for people with celiac disease and gluten intolerance in Austin, San Antonio, Corpus Christi and the surrounding areas.
