Here is my summary from my question about visiting Reno NV. Thanks to those that
responded.
We had a wonderful meal at Zagol Ethiopian Restaurant in Reno. The chef makes
the injera (flat bread) the traditional way without wheat by fermenting the
teff. It is wonderful! Everything was gluten-free except for the baklava. The
contact information is:
Zagol Ehtiopian Restaurant
855 E 4th
Reno, NV 89512
775-786-9020

They are closed on Mondays and have limited hours on Sunday. It might be good
to have reservations and you could even ask for the traditional seating if you
wish, rather than a booth.
The Peppermill buffet with the waterfall (yes, in a casino) always did a great
job of taking care of us. We'd ask for the chef, explain what we needed and he'd
walk the food line with us, showing us what to eat/not eat and have staff get us
fresh portions from the back as needed.
When I was in Reno last November I ate at the following places with no
difficulty.
Stone House Cafe - located at Plumb & Arlington 284-3895 - delicious salads at
lunch; omelets on the weekends (And across the street is a Harvest Bread
Company which has GF baked goods on Mondays)
Francis' Asian Bistro - 4796 Coughlin Parkway 827-3111 I've been several
times and always get the asparagus and shrimp dish as it's naturally GF
When I was in the airport to leave, a woman at the candy store told me about
Heaven on Earth - a bakery at 10855 Double R Blvd. that has GF baked goods.
I've not been back to try them. (775)284-4200
There is an Outback and a PF Changs. I think there may be an In and Out Burger.
There is a Whole Foods and the Ralley's grocery chain has a decent selection of
GF foods.
I've eaten in the steak houses in several casinos (Atlantis for example) and did
fine with GF requests. Several years ago I ate in the Nugget in Sparks with no
difficulty - again in the higher end restaurant.
Have a GREAT day!!
Lori
